A descendant of the D'Anza party, Patricia Jean Smoot was a fourth-generation San Franciscan. She was a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley with further studies at San Diego State University and the Laguna School of Art and Design. She studied with Prof. Rauschnabel, Erle Loran, Glen Wessels and Henry Schaffer-Simmern. Pat traveled to and painted in over 80 countries, traveling to China with Dong Kingman and to Africa with Jean-Pierre-Hallet, famed author-explorer. She was the recipient of numerous awards and honors. Exhibited over 25 years at galleries in Carmel, California. |
